Hosted by Greads

Today's question: Which book from the last 10 you've read would you recommend to a friend?

Obviously for me it would hands down be The Hunger Games! It barely makes my last ten read, but it does! So, it counts! I think it makes an excellent reader for readers and nonreaders alike. I suckered my sister and a couple of coworkers into reading it, and no one has been able to put it down.

If I had to choose a less obvious answer, I'd probably say City of Bones

"Oh, but, Ashley, I thought you didn't really love City of Bones!"

You are absolutely right! I didn't love it. It does seem, however, that almost everyone else has! (we're making recommendations, remember?) Having now finished City of Ashes I definitely have a lot more investment in the series, too. I really liked the second book. It's given me a greater appreciation for the first.

What are you recommending this week?!

  1. The Hunger Games is a great recommendation! I was late to the game (only read it last year) but I LOVED it.

  2. The Hunger Games isn't my favorite series ever, but I would absolutely recommend it to others. On the other hand, TMI is one of my favorite series ever. I have told tons of people to read those books. Stick w/it. They get better and better.

  3. Love, love, love The Hunger Games! I finished the trilogy last year (late to the game as well) and passed it off to anyone who was willing to listen.

  4. YES YES YES x a million for the Hunger Games!! That series was definitely one of my favourites too! <3 It's also the book that I actually got my anti-reading sister to pick up just like you did with yours, and I'm going to try to get a million more people to read it before the movie. SO EXCITED! :)

Awesome recommendations, Ashley! :) I'm really glad that you're starting to love the Mortal Instruments series even more because it's one of my favourites too!

  5. Awesome books and great post :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and happy reading!!

  6. Great Rec's! The Hunger Games is what got me into YA! Found you thru Book Blogs, new follower :) Happy Reading.

Have you read Wither by Lauren DeStefano? Just started it and it's pretty good so far!

    Happy reading!

  10. I absolutely loved the first HUNGER GAMES so I'm on board with that rec. :) Plus it's the book that reignited my blazing love for YA, so it's always going to have a special place in my heart!
